JOAN TRUSHIN

To photograph:  it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart.

Henri Cartier-Bresson

Photography for me is an ongoing adventure in “seeing.”

Some of my favorite subject areas for photography include nature, architecture, and images from my various travels.

Although I started with creating more “realistic” photographs, I have begun experimenting with the wizardry of Photoshop and other software applications to create digital composite images.

To create such composite images I use a variety of techniques:

  • color and texture applied to initially desaturated images
  • multiple exposures “layered” together
  • various techniques/software for fashioning a more “impressionistic” result
  • techniques to enhance or design a more abstract image

A few of my favorite themes include:

  • Reflections
  • Arches
  • The play of light on water
  • A captivating combination of colors

My  photo gallery includes a wide-ranging selection of my images--realistic photographs, composite images, impressionistic images, and  abstract images.  Enjoy!
